Encaustics:

A New Toy!

I am having a love affair with encaustics--beeswax mixed with resin and pigments, heated to a molten stage. Working with melted wax is somewhat unpredictable, which forces me to stop being such a control freak.  The wax can be scraped, scratched, manipulated...and I can add things to the mix, like decorative paper collage, found objects, coffee grounds, etc.  It is pure play!
